	MongolianDelegation On February 20th, 2009 RAEDC hosted a delegation of 24 EMBA professionals from Inner Mongolia.
	2008 Annual Meeting On November 19, 2008, over 700 business and community leaders met at Cliffbreakers Riverside Resort for the Rockford Area Economic Development Council 2008 Annual Meeting and Dinner. The event featured a keynote address by Paul C. Brophy, one of the nation’s leading urban economic consultants, authors, and professors of economic development, housing, and neighborhood improvement. In addition, RAEDC President, Janyce Fadden, outlined three regional calls to action to further build a strong foundation for regional growth, including: Embrace and Grow International Connections, Build a Strong, Sustainable Region, and Improve our Educational System.
	2008 Delegation Visit to China September 2008 RAEDC accompanied Mayor Morrissey on a visit to China. The visit included meetings with companies considering investing in the Rockford Area, including Wanxiang Group, meetings with city level, provincial, and federal government officials, and a visit to Rockford’s sister city: Changzhou. While in Changzhou, Mayor Morrissey delivered an address to about 1,000 people at the International Forum on Science and Technology and Economic Cooperation on the importance of international economic cooperation.
	2008 Changzhou Sister City Visit On December 8-9, 2008, a delegation of 10 individuals from Changzhou visited the Rockford Area. The delegation consisted of Chinese business leaders and government representatives from the City of Changzhou, led by Cai Chuqiu, Vice Director of Changzhou Foreign Trade & Economic Cooperation Bureau. Their visit to Rockford included a tour of Ingersoll Production Systems, a local Chinese owned company, a tour of the EIGERlab, and a business matchmaking seminar with local Rockford companies.
	2008 Chinese Investment Promotion Agency Visit On June 19^th, 2008, RAEDC hosted two delegations from the Chinese Investment Promotion Agency lead by Mme. Zhang Yingxin. The delegation participated in a seminar introducing the Rockford Area as an ideal location for Chinese businesses to invest. Following the seminar, the delegation was given a tour of the Rockford Area that included a walk on the Runway of the Chicago Rockford International Airport and a trip the Rockford’s Peace Plaza.
	2008 Go Global or Get Left Behind! Conference On October 29^th, 2008, RAEDC in collaboration with the Greater Rockford Airport Authority, Supplycore, Inc., U.S. Bank and the Rockford Chamber of Commerce hosted Go Global Afterhours. This seminar was a continuation of the 2008 Go Global or Get Left Behind conference held in May, 2008. Peter Magnusson of Northern Illinois University gave a presentation on his research on quantifying cultural differences and how this knowledge can help those conducting international business.
	2008 International Manufacturing Technology Show Reception RAEDC hosted a reception at the 2008 International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS). The reception included exhibits from Rockford Area companies and information about the Rockford Area. In addition to Rockford Area companies, attendees also included international business leaders and several International consulates.

	2008 Tsinghua University Delegation Visit On November 18-19, 2008 RAEDC in collaboration with Rockford College hosted a delegation of 20 EMBA professionals from Beijing, China’s Tsinghua University. Delegates included business leaders representing such industries as electronics manufacturing, information technology and investment companies. Their visit to Rockford included a reception, seminars on the Rockford Area and a city tour.
	2007 Rockforward! On October 10, 2007, the Rockford Area Economic Development Council launched a new five-year strategic plan for 2008 – 2012 called “Rockforward! Funding the Future We Want Now.” This plan is designed to generate new wealth for the Rockford Region by focusing economic development efforts on five primary initiatives.
