Full-Service Regional Airline Maintenance at RFD; 100 FAA-Licensed Mechanics

The Chicago Rockford International Airport (RFD) is home to Emery Air, Inc., a full-service fixed-base operations service (FBO) that continues to grow. Emery Air provides line service for general aviation, business aviation and airline needs, offering both aircraft maintenance and avionics, or aviation electronics. United Express and Comair, a Delta affiliate, area both serviced by Emery Air.

Due in part to the strong growth of RFD, Emery Air is expanding its maintenance service to care for fleets and is now the largest aircraft service provider in the Midwest.

New Incentives Available for Rockford's "Brownfields" Near Rock River

Rockford is one of three Illinois communities to be named a River Edge Redevelopment Zone participant. The program is designed to stimulate the safe and cost-effective development of environmentally challenged properties or brownfields near a river through tax incentives and grants. "These incentives can result in substantial savings for property and business owners," said Rob Lamb, City of Rockford's industrial development manager. "Plus, the benefits also help the non-brownfield properties in the area," he added.

Eleven businesses have already applied for and taken advantage of the sales tax exemption. For more information on the seven different incentives available through River Edge, contact Jovita Donahue, City of Rockford's deputy zone administrator at 815.9878.5632.
