Develop your international sales strategy in 10 weeks

Find the Path to Profitable Growth by Selling your Products Globally
ExporTech combines hands-on workshops and personal coaching to enable smaller manufacturers to quickly enter or expand into international markets. Led by global business specialists, ExporTech will connect you with the organizations, government resources, and expertise to help you avoid common mistakes, manage risk, and accelerate time to market.

Program Highlights
Offered by Manufacturing Extension Partnership Centers, U.S. Export Assistance Centers, and other regional partners, ExporTech merges strategy with results. Rather than just telling you about the basics of exporting, we’ll work with you to actually develop the blueprint that will enable you to export your products to the right international customers at the right margins. The benefits:

  • Small number of companies allow facilitators to build content around unique challenges of each firm.
  • Three one-day learning sessions over three months.
  • Between-session coaching from your own international expert.
  • An export plan vetted by a panel of global business specialists.

Schedule
Session 1–Export Strategies and Best Practices
Start with the big picture, focusing on successful export strategies, best practices, and a template for your international growth plan. In the afternoon, you will delve into more specific topics, generally including market research, logistics, and assistance available from the USEAC and MEP centers.

Session 2–Mechanics of Exporting
Designed to help you gather more detailed information on all critical topics to exporting, including financing, payment, export controls, legal issues, protecting intellectual property, culture, and so on.

Session 3–Export Growth Plan Presentations
You will present your draft plan to an experienced panel of exporters, and receive their feedback and suggestions.

**On average, companies spend 30-60 hours working on their export plan outside of the sessions over 2.5 months.

Fees & Registration
$1,400 per company (50% rebate available)*
Includes three full training days, up to 7 hours from an assigned international coach, continental breakfast and lunch on session days, and training materials.

A maximum of 3 individuals per company can attend each session. Participants are required to attend every session.

* Eligible companies may be able to receive reimbursement of up to 50% of the program fees through a grant from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity. Required forms (available in advance) must be completed.
