FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Acument Global Technologies Establishes Acument(r) Aerospace Business Unit
* Latest Step in Acument’s Reemergence as Fastening Supplier to Aerospace Industry

ROCKFORD, Ill. (June 27, 2008) - Acument Global Technologies, Inc. (Acument), a leading supplier of mechanical fastening technology, today announced it has established Acument(r) Aerospace as a separate business unit to focus and expand its capabilities in the high-performance aerospace threaded fastener market.  According to Acument President and CEO Rick Dauch, the business unit’s international headquarters will be located in Rockford, Ill., and led by Randy Aardema, General Manager of Acument(r) Aerospace.

In late March 2008, Acument announced its reentry into the aerospace threaded fastener market with the opening of its Camcar(r) Aerospace production complex occupying two renovated facilities in Rockford, Ill.  The operation quickly earned its AS9100 Aerospace Quality Systems Certification and has begun ramping up production of aerospace-grade specialty screws, bolts and threaded fasteners.  Engineers at the Camcar Aerospace research and development lab are working jointly with the Northern Illinois University (NIU) School of Engineering to conduct a federally funded study on next-generation titanium aerospace fasteners.  The $750,000 federal funding for the study was directed by Congressman Don Manzullo of the 16th Congressional District of Illinois.

Immediately after establishing Camcar Aerospace in Rockford, Acument announced it had acquired Saturn Fasteners, a specialty aerospace threaded fastener supplier based in Burbank, Calif. Saturn gave Acument an established base of more than 300 global customers and an immediate presence in the Southern California aerospace community.  Saturn and Camcar Aerospace now will operate as part of the Acument Aerospace business unit.

“Forming our Acument Aerospace business unit signals Acument’s commitment to accelerate our growth as a significant supplier of aerospace threaded fastening technology,” Dauch said.  “With the integration of our Saturn Fasteners acquisition complete and ramp-up of Camcar Aerospace now underway, we have reached the appropriate time to give our growing aerospace business the focus and leadership it required.  Our company has been a long-standing member of the manufacturing community in the Rockford and Belvidere area.  Along with everyone at our local Camcar Aerospace operation, Acument takes great pride in joining the many global suppliers assembling what is fast becoming an aerospace technology cluster in the Rockford region.”

“When we first discussed the possibility of restarting aerospace fastener manufacturing less than a year ago, I immediately sensed a strong commitment from Acument officials,” Manzullo said.  “Since then, Acument has launched an R&D study with NIU, opened Camcar Aerospace in Rockford, purchased another facility in California, and now established its separate Acument Aerospace company with its world headquarters in Rockford.  That’s significant progress in a short time. Today’s announcement will spawn high-paying jobs in Rockford for years to come and validates our region as an epicenter of aerospace manufacturing and technology.”
